Are these trips kid friendly?
YES! We pride ourselves in being a family friendly fishing boat. Fishing is fun for all ages. We recommend if you have little kids and want to test out their sea legs, start with our half day trip. Kids under the age of 5 will not be permitted to fish a rental rod on their own. Parental guidance is absolutely required. Strollers are not allowed onboard.
Will the crew clean my catch?
Yes, at the end of the trip the crew will clean your catch and send you home with fresh caught ready to eat filets.
What is typical to tip the crew?
Much like a waiter, your crew works for cash tips. A typical gratuity is 15-20%. Tips can be given directly to your deckhand.
Why are bananas considered bad luck on a fishing boat?
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is permitted on the main deck outside. There is no smoking allowed in the cabin, the heads or on the upper deck. Please be considerate of any children or persons who may be bothered by the smoke.
Will I get seasick?
The Long Island Sound is typically a very calm body of water but if we feel like any trip is going to be negatively effected by the conditions, we will take necessary action and cancel the trip. If we are fishing and you become seasick, we will not bring the boat in early. If you are still concerned about sea sickness, we recommend taking Dramamine. Dramamine works best if you take it at least 1 full hour before boarding the vessel. Always check with your doctor before taking any new medications. We do not sell or administer any medications onboard.
